Sivuyiseni Primary School, is a small school in Kwamagxaki in Port Elizabeth. Sivuyiseni Primary School, founded in 1988, is a quintile 3 school and is located in the Kwamagxaki Township.
Challenges that the school has that we tried to tackle were:
· Inadequate playing area
· Lack of physical activity and recreational facilities
· No extra-curricular activities due to transport issues
· Teachers have limited knowledge of sports coaching
· Lack of storage space and sporting equipment
· Painted the court area
During our numerous visits to the school we:
· Painted small indigenous games around the school where suitable
· Constructed all in one rugby and soccer posts
· Installed a jungle gym
· Handed over sporting equipment
Finally, we would like to thank our generous sponsors. Without you, none of this would have been possible. Our lecturer, Dr Walter, said “If you can make a difference in at least one child’s life, the project will be a success,” therefore we believe the project was a major success as it is bringing joy to many children at Sivuyiseni Primary School. And so we would like to extend our gratitude and thank you again on behalf of Sivuyiseni School, our group and Prof Walter for your support in this great initiative.
