The PasSPORT to Health Project is a project of the Department of Human Movement Science at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. NPO Reg No: 18/11/13/3878. All funds sponsored are spent on previously disadvantaged black township schools.
The interventions are tailored to meet the schools’ needs and cost approximately R10 000 - R15 000 per school.
The interventions entail providing the schools with a physical activity-friendly environment aimed at promoting school sport and getting learners active and having fun, and have included: simple court and wall markings for games, fitness circuits, small equipment, leadership camps for school prefects, sport coaching and training of coaches, educating learners on the importance of leading an active lifestyle and the establishment of fitness clubs at the high schools
